Hummingsong Choir’s major annual fundraising event in November to raise much-needed funds for victims of domestic violence still has some tickets left.
Do some early Christmas shopping then come along to Chatswood Concourse on Saturday November 5 at 2pm to enjoy ‘Songs of Soul’, the beautiful a cappella voices of around 350 women singing a variety of contemporary and popular classic pieces together with TV’s The Voice finalist and Gold album singer Darren Percival.
Over $75,000 has been raised since 2012 to support the services of two local women’s refuges, including an art therapy program.
Choir Director Anna Humbertsone is hoping to increase support for local shelters this year. “We’ve added a second concert this year to help achieve this, and there are still some seats left for the first of our two performances, the matinee. We were thrilled to see the evening concert sell out within 24 hours.
“The aim of our six choirs around the North Shore and Northern Beaches, is to have fun, create great music and build community. The bonus is that in doing that we also raise funds to support local women and children escaping domestic violence.”
Generous sponsorship packages and tax-deductible donations are also available – call Choir Director Anna Humbertsone for more information on 0433 024 354. Tickets can be purchased from Chatswood Concourse box office.
