I start by reminding readers our Trust AGM will be held in Beecroft on Tuesday April 4 at 7pm, at Beecroft Bowling Club, 128 Copeland St, Beecroft. Everyone is welcome, not just Trust members. At the meeting, members will have the opportunity to put forward ideas for how to spend the $2.7m in funds from the sale of the Cheltenham Church.
Some initial ideas are the Beecroft Memorial Gardens, a Village Green makeover with rotunda and maybe a picket fence, a Marie Byles monument and signposted walk in Cheltenham. The money is held in a separate account by Hornsby Council but now we’ve lost the opportunity to purchase land in Byles Creek, we need great ideas of what can be done to improve the lives of locals. It’s a huge sum of money, so I look forward to some huge ideas.
At the AGM we will also have local police presenting information about crime in our local area. With some recent criminal activity in our neighbourhood, we need to know what’s going on to prevent further problems. We encourage all locals to come along to hear what they have to say.
The Trust sends out an email every two weeks with updates on local issues. If you want to know what’s going on, email email@example.com and I’ll add your name to the list. We don’t pass on your details to anyone, so your privacy is assured.
The Trust is looking for volunteers to join the committee in 2017. Give something back to your community and join our committee. It’s just one night per month of your time and we need your help. Email me for more information.
