Gordon is to get a new Aldi supermarket, right next to the Ku-ring-gai Council offices.
Though it not yet known when the discount chain will open there, there is speculation it will knock down the existing four storey building and put up its own premises.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “Our commitment at this time is to the current tenants in the property and the leases in place.
“We are currently assessing future development opportunities for the property and look forward to lodging a DA with Ku-ring-gai Council in due course.”
Global Pharmaceutical company Allergan has occupied the building as a tenant for eight years, and a spokesman said it had no immediate relocation plans for its 100 employees.
