Magpies Waitara was in a generous mood when it donated over $23,000 from raffle sales to three chosen local charities Hornsby Connect, Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service (KYDS) and Studio ARTES.
The three beneficiaries received their cheques at their annual Charity Cocktail Party in the Pavilion at the club in October, attended by over 100 guests, club and charity supporters.
Member for Ku-ring-gai Alister Henskens MP drew the raffle prizes. The charities had the
opportunity to speak on the important work they do in the community including Steve Hopwood from Hornsby Connect, as well as heartfelt speeches from Sarah Ashton from KYDS and Oliver House from Studio ARTES.
