Beecroft Rotary Annual Book Fair: Grab a load of great bargain-priced books at the Rotary Club of Beecroft’s Book Fair. It’s on Saturday August 4 and Sunday August 5 from 9am to 3pm at Cheltenham-Beecroft Scout and Guide Centre, The Crescent, Beecroft. Also on sale will be CDs, DVDs, puzzles and even records.

Triple H Trivia Night: Dust down your platforms and dress up as your favourite rock star for the upcoming Triple H Trivia fundraising night at Asquith Bowling Club on Saturday August 11. The night kicks off at 6.30 with live music, a DJ, door prizes, a silent auction and raffles. Money raised supports Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai local community radio in continuing to deliver a valuable broadcast service to the North Shore area. Tickets are $20 for Triple H FM members, $25 for non-members or teams of 10 can buy a table for $200. Tickets can be purchased online via www.triplehfm.com.au

Thornleigh West Public School Spring Fair: the Thornleigh West school will open its gates for their annual Spring Fair on Saturday August 25th, from 10am to 4pm. Every year it raises over $50,000 for facilities like air conditioning and to fund learning support teachers. There will be rides and games, students competing for the best tasting chocolate cake, the best artist and the most creative lego builder. There’s a huge range of food stalls including a sausage sizzle, curry stall and fairy floss. Kids can also grab a selfie with Mickey Mouse, at the fair between 12 and 1pm. The school is on Giblett Avenue and entry is by gold coin donation.

West Pennant Hills Lions annual raffle: Look out for raffle ticket sellers on Saturday August 24 at Yarrara Road shops in Pennant Hills and at Bunnings in Dural as they conduct their annual charity raffle. This year they are supporting cancer research at the Westmead Children’s Hospital and are hoping to raise $250,000 to provide vital equipment and to fund the development of gene therapy which is expected to gradually take the place of chemotherapy. The sellers will also be at other North West locations including Cherrybrook shops and Beecroft Mall, right up until 20th October. West Pennant Hills Lions Club celebrates its 54th year of continual service to the local and wider communities.

Lions Club of Hornsby 60th: Welcoming all Lions, former Lions and Friends of Lions – they are celebrating their 60th year of Charter on Tuesday 11th September, 6.45 for 7.15pm, $65pp, drinks at the bar, Hornsby RSL showroom.
