HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY ROVERS SCOUTS AUSTRALIA

Federal Member for Berowra, Julian Leeser MP, congratulates Rovers Scouts Australia NSW Branch on their centenary.

Established by Robert Baden-Powell in the UK in 1918, the Rovers have a long and celebrated history, Mr Leeser acknowledged. For generations they have provided fun youth development activities that build resilient and confident young adults.

“I am honoured to commemorate this milestone 100th anniversary and present an Australian flag to Monica Gonzalez, Normanhurst Crew; Claudia Boyling, Mount Colah Kuringai; and Luke Prangell, Berowra Crew, from the Sydney North Region Rover Council,” Mr Leeser said.

“Rovers deliver a vital community service. They help shape our future leaders, encourage personal value development, teach new skills, and provide a fun and supportive environment where young men and women can grow and build lifelong friendships,” Mr Leeser said.

“I would like to congratulate Rover crews and specifically the Berowra, Mt Colah/Mt Ku-ring-gai and Normanhurst Crews, for their remarkable contribution to the community and their unwavering commitment to the principle of service,” said Mr Leeser.

Rovering involves planned outdoor activities such as bushwalking, canoeing, sailing, caving, skiing, four-wheel driving, that opens the door to new adventures, challenges and achievement. Rovers is a section of the Scouting Movement and is open to men and women aged between 18 and 25 years.
