The Council’s low-cost fitness program offers tai chi, junior golf, Pilates, social tennis and group fitness among others.
The Active Ku-ring-gai program of classes runs from now until 21 December and is based in different locations around Ku-ring-gai.
As a special incentive to help residents get fit and active for summer, the Council is also offering a 50% discount on the third and subsequent activities.
So if you’ve always longed to try tai chi and are already registered in Pilates and social tennis, the tai chi classes can cost as little as $5.50 a week. The normal cost for individual classes is around $11 a week.
Activities to choose from include social tennis, Yoga, Pilates, junior golf, outdoor group training called Gym Without Walls, a ‘mums n bubs’ outdoor fitness class, walking groups and tai chi.
There is also a Yoga for Men class at Turramurra Seniors Hall on Thursdays at 7pm and Mums and Bubs at Wahroonga Park on Tuesdays at 11am.
Free Heart Foundation walking groups meet in Turramurra, Gordon and Wahroonga.
