Residents are invited to take part in the Council’s review of proposed cycles routes throughout the shire. Each suburb has been reviewed and proposed cycle routes have been identified. They include suggested routes for younger children/elderly riders, tourists and commuters.
Now is the time for residents to identify any gaps in the plans. To see what is proposed go to Hornsby Council’s website and type: 2017/2018 Bike Plan Review. There is also a survey which residents can take.
The initial plan shows ideas for shared paths, mixed traffic lanes with logos, pedestrian/bike refuges and on road separated bike lanes. Analysis has been made of traffic, speed limits, safe zones and crossing points.
The costs allocated to this project are: $3.6 million – School Routes and $3.1 million Model Routes.
