This is a hilly walk that’s well worth the effort. You’ll walk through some large sandstone overhangs and visit some waterfalls. This time of year there are wonderful displays of wild flowers and a beautiful salt marsh to explore. The section between Mt Kuring-gai and the end of Calna Creek is particularly enjoyable, and Naa Badu Lookout is well worth the small side trip. Take the time to enjoy the many creekside rest areas along the way. If you get going early in the day you may see or hear some Lyrebirds and on warmer days keep an eye out for lizards, water dragons and goannas.
There are coffee shops and toilets at the start and end of this walk. The track starts and ends at the train station. If you come by car there’s free parking, and it’s easy to catch the train back to the car. Full tracknotes and maps at http://wild.tl/mk2b
