The Beecroft Cheltenham Civic Trust’s Enews is continuing to work well, developing into an excellent medium for conveying information to the local community. Residents are being informed of issues relevant to Beecroft and Cheltenham in a timely manner and in a way that the old printed bulletin was unable to achieve.

Such has been the volume of requests from local community groups seeking publication that we’ve been averaging two Enews per month. I’ve been encouraging recipients of the Enews to pass on the Trust’s details to their friends and neighbours, who are likely to be interested in receiving it. Currently we have over 1000 email addresses on our database but there’s still 60% of 2119 residents who are not as yet benefitting from receiving our eNews.

We’ve also had to establish a new website as the old one had become dysfunctional. With various security constraints attached to the old site, we found it easier to walk away from and create a new  website.  If anyone has tried to contact me at the old email address and has received no reply, that is the reason. My new email address is .

The council elections are done and dusted now. It was good to see a number of women seeking election as candidates in both Hornsby and Parramatta Councils. We need a balance in our Councils. This amalgamation process has created a logistical problem for the Trust that was not envisaged by the local community at the time.In the future the Trust will have its hands full communicating with two councils now that close to a third of Beecroft is under Parramatta Council’s control. The Trust is looking forward to working with all the newly elected councillors.
