The annual Christmas rush on fresh food is expected to be bigger than ever at Cherrybrook Village this year, with the shopping centre announcing its fresh food retailers will be open for their Early Bird Shop on Christmas Eve from as early as 4am.
It’s the second busiest period of the year for seafood sales in Australia and with newly opened seafood operator Costi’s Catch as part of the centre mix, the store is preparing to sell over 2000kg worth of seafood for Christmas. With Costi’s Catch now offering the local community quality and freshness sourced directly from the Sydney Fish Markets, the popular seafood shop is opening even earlier on Christmas Eve at 3am to meet demand.
‘We’re at the markets at 4am each day sourcing our fresh seafood directly from the Sydney Fish Market. We shuck our oysters and descale and debone our fish in store, so everything is as fresh as it can be”, owner of Costi’s Catch George Christou said.
“It will be an early morning on Christmas Eve but we’re pumped for the day and we feel great knowing our customers can get fresh quality seafood without having to leave The Hills”, George added.
The fishmonger, who’s opening at 3am is just one of four fresh retailers that will join in on the Christmas Eve Early Bird Shop. Baker’s Delight, George’s Fine Meats and Martelli’s Fruit Market will all be opening from 4am.The centre is expecting over 10,000 customers to walk through the doors. With lines expected to form, coffee operators will be open from 6am to provide customers with a much-needed caffeine fix.
Several stores will also be offering special deals over the Christmas period to celebrate the joy of Christmas. The newly opened Oliver Brown will be offering a buy one get one free hot beverage special between 1-3pm and 6-8pm from the 15th-23rd of December. Meanwhile Costi’s will be offering a ticket for every $30 spent in store as a raffle entry to win $3,500 in prizes.
